Most smart gamblers know that the Casinos make their fortunes on those little machines with the flashing lights that take coins. Casinos rake in over 80% of their profits from people playing slots. The odds are the worst of any game the casino has to offer. The only time slots are even worth taking the risk on is when you see a sign that says 98% payout guaranteed or if you are in a slot tournament where the pool amount is already determined and you have a better chance than say normal slot play.

True but they are so much fun to play and addicting. I know people that have hit $2,000 on the slots so they do payout but how much money you put in depends on the amount you actually walk away with.

I have to agree with both comments here in part. The casinos do make a packet off them, but at the same time I still enjoy them. I know the odds of my winning, and the amount of money that I am likely to lose. That doesn’t stop me from playing and enjoying it when I do.

You can say that the payout or odds are lower on the slots, but also you could say that your odds on the table are better, but none of this is relevant to a persons own odds.  When you play poker you change your own odds by the way you play the cards, at least on the machine the odds are set and do not change.

Exactly blackjack there’s nothing you can do to improve the odds on the machines so you really don’t need to be playing them for anything more than fun. Any higher expectations and you can be sorely letting yourself down.

As you said so yourself, the casinos mostly make money off these little devils. I mean, they’re addicting, fun, and for some reason, really money-sapping, but what can you do? You gotta love the little suckers. I mean, common! Sure they’re rip-offs… but what isn’t in a casino anymore?

Actually problem with slots in casinos is that they are specifically made so that you don’t win too often. You might have played and won at any other joints apart from a casino because they are neutral kind of slot machines.

I don’t think those little slot machines contribute to 80% of a casino’s income. Its not possible. People bet much higher on roulette and craps then they do in slots. So to me it seems to be obsurd!

Same here I too don’t think that those small machines could generate very large income! But anyhow I think that its pretty much possible to manipulate the actual working of these machines. I have an old slot which isn’t working now but in past I had made some successful alterations in it to see that I win most of the times.

Well, I think you are right with your 80 percent.

If you are playing with a machine on a low level, you do not recognize how much money is running through it.
Each round only takes seconds and in a minute a few dollars are lost, even if you only spent cents in the game.
