My very first trip to a casino was with my mom and grandma. We played the nickel machines and I didn’t win a thing but my grandma walked away with $200. She was so happy that day and just couldn’t believe she won. What is your first slot machine experience?

That’s not a bad amount to walk away with. The most I’ve ever walk away from a slot machine with is $80. I don’t have the patience to sit at the machine and keep losing so I try to mix in the table games every now and then.

I love the nickel slots and I also play the quarter ones from time to time. The one I just got into was the Wheel of Fortune one. I posted it on a separate thread so you might want to check it out.

Nickel slots were the first thing I ever tried at a casino.  I was in Vegas and I had never gambled, the barkeeper said that the nickel machine on the corner was looking good tonight, so I tried it.  I walked away about 3 hours later with about 50 bucks in my pocket.  I didn’t get rich, but let me tell you I have now been a longtime fan of these machines.

My first slot machine experience was horrible. I had lost almost $800 at BJ and about the same amount in poker. I only had few dollars with me which I lost in slot machines!

That seldom happens and I am glad that it happened with your grandma, she must have been really lucky!

Yes she must have been really lucky. I’ve never seen someone win $200 from a nickel slot. At max people win $30-$50 in these slots so if she won $200 she’s definitely lucky!

I never played on the nickel slots, but I’d like to. I played on either dollar or quarter slots when I hit my first and only jackpot and walked away with a few hundred, but I never tried a nickel. I should, though. Cheaper and, well, cheaper!

I’ve never actually played the nickel slots before. However, I usually don’t walk away with much money from slots in general as I usually put it all back into the machine. :p

I think that I won around 20 dollars on my first slots!  It was at the airport in Las Vegas of all places.
