I know in a lot of movies you’ll see the scene where an old lady wins a ton of money on a slot machine and then people go rushing over to play that machine as soon as she’s done. Have you ever seen this happen or done it yourself? What was the outcome?

I won’t do it personally. I know that, statistically the results of one spin do not affect the results of the next, but if the machine is empty there’s no point. I know that is changing now that they aren’t all coin machines but still.

There’s no use in playing on a machine that just had a payout coz its run out of money and chances of you hitting jackpot are pretty slim, especially in casinos.

I just said in some other thread, don’t play on machines that just had a payout. Generally all the machines are configured in a specific manner as per my understanding. No machine would give payouts again and again, so its a safe bet to avoid a machine that just had a payout.

There is a psychological trick about slots.  They call it Operant Conditioning. There is a pattern on when will you win the prize. Example, you bet 3x, consecutively, you will receive a small prize. After receiving the prize, you will feel lucky and will bet again, after 10 tries, you win a minor prize and I’m sure you will bet again. It would take a long time before you can win a major prize but after winning that, you better go home and treat your self rather than playing again and expecting to win another jackpot.

Even though the slots are randomized, I still don’t play one after a big payout.  I don’t know why… I know that some people think that there will be a bigger one after, but I always think that it will be a while before the next payout.

Hmm… I’m not so lucky when it comes to winning big. I earn less when I play online slots…might happen in a real casino. But, I never give up playing them, as they are fun to play. I play a lot on freeslot.com.
